Built for trail
Same distance. Different race.
A 45 km race with 800 m of climb and one with 2,600 m are not the same preparation. The engine reads your race's distance and vert, and every week takes a precise place in the block: base, build, peak, taper.
- 01
Vert progresses, capped at your race
Weekly climb rises with the same discipline as distance. Never a mountain week your recent training does not support.
- 02
Terrain follows the block
Easier underfoot in base to bank volume, more climbing in build, the course profile at peak, one band back in the taper.
- 03
Ultra-specific when the course calls for it
Back-to-back weekends, a second long run for advanced athletes, eccentric descent work gated on your route.

You arrive rested at the line. The taper eases the final weeks on its own, and terrain steps back with it.
How it works
A few minutes to set up. Then it runs with you.
No training science required. You answer, the engine plans, you run.
- 01
Say where you run
Your goal, your level, your race if you have one, and the days you can train.

- 02
Get a plan built for your course
The engine sizes the block on your race's distance and elevation gain, then fills each week with sessions that carry a precise role: base, climbs, threshold, long trail.

- 03
Run. The plan follows.
Record in the app or sync Strava, Apple Health, Polar and COROS, then rate the effort in one tap. On Pro, a missed key session or rising fatigue reworks the rest of the week.

When the week goes sideways
No week ever goes to plan.
Tuesday’s threshold falls through. A fixed plan pretends nothing happened. On Pro, Uptrail moves the key session to a realistic slot and keeps the rest of the week in order.
- Key session recovered on Thursday, not skipped
- Hard-day spacing protected
- Sunday’s long run untouched

One app for Free and Pro: the 7-day trial is offered as soon as your plan is ready, and on every locked week.
Start for freePrices shown for the French App Store. The 7-day free trial starts in the app, through Apple: cancel before it ends and nothing is charged. During the trial your plan shows through its end, the rest as soon as the subscription starts. Apple bills you after that, cancel anytime in your subscriptions.
Who it's for
From your first trail to your first ultra.
The first question the app asks is where you run. Trail is where it goes deepest, and the same engine plans the road.
- 01
Progress in the mountains
Climbing strength and endurance, with or without a race on the calendar.
- 02
Prepare a race
Trail or road. The block converges on your event's real distance and profile.
- 03
Start or rebuild a base
First kilometres, or a solid foundation after time away from running.
- 04
Come back after a break or injury
A progression that respects where you are now, not where you were.
- 05
Improve on the road
Aerobic fitness that compounds week after week, from 10K to marathon.
Before you download
Straight answers to the questions runners ask first.
Yes. The first thing the app asks is where you run: starting out, coming back, progressing in the mountains, improving on the road, or preparing a race. A beginner gets a beginner's progression, not a scaled-down elite plan.
It does. Trail is where Uptrail goes deepest, but 10K, half and marathon plans use the same engine: calibrated paces, sessions with a precise role, and a taper that protects race day.
On Pro, the week is rebuilt: the key session moves to a realistic slot, volume and vert rebalance, and hard days keep their spacing. You never catch up by stacking climbs onto tired legs. A missed easy run is simply not made up.
The first week of your plan, race or not, plus the recorder, your activities and your history. Pro unlocks the weeks ahead, automatic adjustments, your race, predictions and the unlimited coach, with a 7-day free trial offered as soon as your plan is ready. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing.
Strava, Apple Health (so Apple Watch), Polar and COROS sync today, and sessions are matched to your plan automatically. You can also record a run directly in the app with GPS. Garmin and Suunto are not connected yet.
Not in the way you fear. Adaptation runs inside guardrails: the taper is protected, volume cannot jump, deload weeks are enforced. The engine adjusts details, never the logic of your build.
Not yet. Uptrail is available on iPhone today.
Yes. Subscriptions go through the App Store and can be cancelled from your Apple settings at any time. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
I do, Zian Collombier. I build Uptrail without a team or outside funding, drawing on ten years of running and my experience working in a running store. The app is young and moves fast: for a question or a bug, write to support@uptrail.app and I answer myself.
