How it works
How Uptrail builds, guides and rebuilds your training.
A plan sized to your race and your days, sessions you start without thinking, a week that adapts when life gets in the way. Here it is, in the real app.
How it works
Three minutes to set up. Then it runs with you.
No training science required. You answer, the engine plans, you run.
- 01
Say where you run
Your goal, your level, your race if you have one, and the days you can train. The whole setup takes about three minutes.
- 02
Get a plan built for your course
The engine sizes the block on your race's distance and elevation gain, then fills each week with sessions that carry a precise role: base, climbs, threshold, long trail.
- 03
Run. The plan follows.
Record in the app or sync Strava, Apple Health and Polar. Rate the effort in one tap. Missed, moved or tired, the week is rebuilt before your next run.
The session
Open. Run. Done.
No vague “run 45 minutes”. Every session opens as a precise structure, warm-up, climbs, recoveries, cool-down, each block carrying its own effort target, built from your real fitness and the terrain.
The coach
Your coach doesn’t just talk. It acts.
The Uptrail coach reads your load, proposes a concrete change, and rewrites your plan in one tap.
- Reads fatigue from your Load Ratio, how hard sessions felt, and recovery
- Proposes concrete changes, not vague advice
- Applies to your real plan in one tap
Adaptation
No week ever goes to plan.
You miss Tuesday’s threshold. A fixed plan pretends nothing happened. Uptrail rebuilds the week around what actually happened.
- Key session recovered on Thursday, not skipped
- Hard-day spacing protected
- Sunday’s long run untouched

Adapting is not improvising
Every change passes the same physiology rules as the original plan. Your block stays coherent.
- Weekly volume is capped. No incoherent jumps.
- Deload weeks are enforced, not optional.
- Your race taper is protected. Hard sessions can’t creep in.
- Every session keeps a precise role in your block.
Rebuilds after a missed session or ordinary fatigue are part of Pro and the trial. Safety adjustments (injury, overload) run on every plan.
Your paces, not a chart’s
CalibratedEvery range is recalibrated from your real runs. On the climbs, targets switch to effort and grade, never a pace you can’t hold. As your fitness climbs, they tighten, automatically.
Six intents, one colour code
Every block carries an intent, so you always know why you’re running, not just how far.
Or record straight in the app, no watch needed. Garmin, COROS and Suunto are not connected yet.
